May 31, 2010 This is Lewis Adams - came up from West Virginia and bought some pups. The pup I Bought (Bud) - he's a very good dog, he's straight, real hard tree dog. I raised some pups from him. The pups are 7 months and just now starting, Hope they turn out like him easy trained. The female I raised the pups out of is a very good tree dog also. Just keep'in you updated

Sat, March 27, 2010 The pups are now treeing good here, running lose, and they just turned 6 months old the 19th of this month. I am trying to find a good pup trainer because I am fixing to feed them a few coon. They treed a red squirrel yesterday, and me and Jason’s son, we started to them and the red squirrel jumped out. They caught it and killed it. I sure love the way they are doing so far, and I think they are off to a great start. David Boggs

Sat, March 27, 2010 I enjoy your web site. I love the Treeing Walker breed. I have 3 to enhance my pack. I hog and bear hunt, and have been very successful. My Walker's are Finley River Bloodline and Nocturnal Nailer. They are wonderful! they hunt hard and want to please me. They are a joy. I am going to keep in touch and frequent your website often. I would love to one day own a Yadkin River Walker. I try to only hunt the best. I also have plotts form L A Perry in Maine and the Casey and Gant bloodline from Blacksburg VA. from Gene Thorn, 4 time world champion and 4 time VA state champion. I also hunt Stephens Curs from Mark Wilson president of the Stephens Breeders Association and long time friend of Hugh Stephens founder of the organization. Mark has had several champions and a Hall of Fame dog "Ruger". So I hunt the best and treat them like kings. I've said all that to say this....Sir, you have some beautiful dogs. I appreciate a good "Dogman". I am from Asheville NC and enjoy the photos of your Walkers. Good Hunting, Rick Jenkins

Date: Tuesday, January 20, 2009 HEY PETE- I hunted bear last fall in Eastern North Carolina with a friend of yours, Justin King. I believe he has a dog from your sire Geoff named Mattie. I’ve been hunting bear in North Carolina for about 8-9 years now and this was my second year along side Mattie. I can honestly tell you she’s one of the best, if not the best bear dog I hunted behind. I’ve been behind a lot of walkers, plots, and red bones chasing bear and Mattie has got the best nose and one of the sweetest mouths you’ll ever hear. It’s a helluva long drive down there from Iowa each year, but I won’t pass up the chance at one of the ‘big bear’ down here with Justin and Mattie. Just thought you’d like to know about one of your pups. Ted Grenis - Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Date: Tuesday, January 13, 2009 Pete Just checking in to see how the puppy business is. I am still looking to geta pup out of Geoff. I see that you have added some females to your page. I particularly like the way the Candy female is bred. You are not expected to have any out of her anytime are you? I know I was near first in line for the pups out of Baby but things did not work out. If you could, drop me a line and let me know what you have or if you know someone that has what I am looking for. I would also be open to getting a started or finished dog along the same line if you or someone else may have one. Hope all is well. I know you went through a tough time with Geoff the last time we talked. Look to hear from you soon. Good hunting to ya. Scott Newcomb

Date: Tuesday, January 13, 2009 (Posted on and
borrowed from UKC Message Board) Just wanted to let everyone that hasn’t had an opportunity to meet Pete and Tina know that they are some mighty fine people and what they are doing for the sport with fine young hounds is great. I’ve had 3 different dogs out of Geoff from two different females and they would all run and tree a coon by themselves or with others. People should give Geoff a chance to show that he’s putting the tree power and ability to flat get it done in these walker dogs. So the next time you’re not only looking for a good stud but a dang good time from great people, go see Pete and Tina, and you will not be disappointed. Good as they come. See you guys around! Date: Tuesday, January 13, 2009 (Posted on and
borrowed from UKC Message Board) Man it sure does make me feel good to see some one talk about a COONDOG my pup off of Geoff and my female just turned 7 months old and the pup is really impressing me every night I take her. She has treed a coon by herself and help tree some to. And as for running she can float a track. I quit coon hunting a long time ago all I do now is bear hunt but she makes it fun to coon hunt again. I have had her on one bear race so far and she stuck on it good and was at the tree. I have some pictures I will post on here soon when I find my cable that hooks up to my com. I am not one to brag on dogs by word of mouth but when you have one that gets you tore- up like this pup does me it don’t look to me like you could go wrong! Jason McConnell

borrowed from UKC Message Board) I am hunting a young male off Geoff now by the name of Bruiser and also own a nice pup off Rock x Lacy that shows great potential. But Bruiser is a dang nice pup, forever more loud loud treeeeeedog! Geoff is throwing early, early starting pups with balance, brains, and most of all the ability to tree those coons in style!! Bar none the best reproducing stud in this part of the country. Pete and Tina have a great thing going, keep up the great work!!!!! Nathan

Date: Monday, January 12, 2009 Hey Pete, I’m gonna bring my Kate female down to see Geoff this weekend. You know she produced good pups when bred to Geoff’s daddy ole Cruizer. Now that Cruizer is gone I’ll breed her to his son Geoff. I feel Geoff will cross as good on Kate or better than any dog out there. I know Geoff’s been getting good results on other females and I know Kate will do her part. Ole Cruizer only had 63 pups and 13 of them were out of his last litter with Kate. Had the old dog been bred more I really feel he could have contributed greatly to the walker breed. As you know Cruizer was a top COONDOG and you know I judge a dog hard but he was the real deal. Now it’s up to Cruizer’s sons to carry on and it looks like Geoff is doing just that. See ya soon. Gary Weller

Pete / Tina:
Hello you guys from
the east coast! I hope that your
family is having as good a
Thanksgiving as mine. Pete I want to
take a few minutes of your time to
publicly give you an update of what
the Geoff pups are doing in the big
game world. As everybody knows Geoff
is throwing some real nice pups from
just about every bitch that he has
been bred to. Some have went on to
make some real
coon dogs. He is doing the
same in the big game arena even
though it is not in the public eye
like the night hunts. I can speak so
boldly because I own three Geoff
pups that are all supper nice bear
dogs all by different dams. I didn't
really think about it like that
until the other day when I had a sow
that I estimated weighing between
350 and 400 lbs caught on the ground
and her two 100 pound yearlings up a
small tree. This bear to say the
least was very ill. I had jumped her
in her bed and she did not like the
thought of these hounds getting to
her yearlings. She was rough but I
had all three of these Geoff pups
baying for every breath just like
they are supposed to. My lead dog
Mattie which is out of Geoff and
River Bottom Susie had three deep
punctures on her rear ham and one
cut that went between her eyes to
the end of here nose because like normal she
tried to catch the bear on the
business end beside his head. Cowboy
which is out of Geoff and Baby had
not been caught yet which was good
and then Wyatt (he is out of Geoff
and Hannah) was standing beside
Cowboy. To me this is the true test
of a bear dog. There are a lot of
dogs that will do good on the small
bear running and treeing but there
are few that will stand and fight a
bear that is that big when the bear
is running the dogs down trying to
kill them especially in the thick
bays of eastern NC were the dogs
can't see the bear until he is one
top of them. Pete once again I would
like to thank you for breeding Geoff
and adding some dogs to the walker
line that know how to do more then
tree. It is nice to own dogs that
can bay and fight as well a
cold trail and tree. There is
not many lines of walkers that you
can buy multiple pups and make bear
dogs out of them all.
Thanks Justin King

You know that we have followed several different dog around these hills, hollows and Yadkin River bottoms. I remember the night that our dogs crossed that old Yadkin River, the next morning as the sun was rising we were coming across the river bridge and low and behold there sat a coon in the middle of the bridge. We have several other tales that could be told . Before I close I've got to put in a plug for Geoff. He's not the fastest dog you ever had ,He doesn't tree as many lay up coon's as one dog you had, he doesn't bark as much on track as a lot of dogs but boy is he a pleasure to hunt. Talk about a Tree Dog, Geoff is that. He has the best locate bark ,even I can call him. Geoff is the best all around dog night after night that I've hunted with. There's not a mean hair on the old boy. I've seen puppies all over him at the tree and he acts like he could care less, he just keeps on treeing. Did I say Geoff was a tree dog, he is that. Very accurate, doesn't run junk. Boy is he reproducing a lot of nice young dogs. Several that I've hunted with, Even though Geoff has a lot of great qualities, the dogs that he is reproducing may be his best quality. See you in the woods. Date: 04 Mar 2007 Love the website, them pups will be here in a couple of days but not soon enough. Can't wait! Seems like these will be some outstanding pups. I heard Rodney's lil jinx gip did an outstanding job the other night. I guess u were right these pups do start at an extremely early age. Hope all of mine turn out the same. I might need to borrow Tina for a couple of weeks so my pups will look like yours. Well we'll be talking to ya in a couple of days, but anyways y'all take it easy around there. ( These are some fine people so y'all north Carolinians take care of em) CHASE COOPER

Date: 01 Mar 2007 Hey Pete and Tina great website and pictures. Really appreciate the page dedicated to Gordon he is missed everyday and every turnout. Luck on the add with Geoff you got him from here but you did all the work time and effort me and Gordon just gave you the dog. Gordon would be proud of all your efforts in breeding and promoting the YADKIN RIVER DOGS. It is an honor to be able to call you and Tina friends more like family. David Gilroy and family

Date: 11 Feb 2007 Hey Pete Nice website. Gordon’s page is my favorite. I don’t think the coonhound world really knows how much Gordon Gilroy did to get the Yadkin River dogs in the public eye. He devoted his life to these dogs and was truly an un-sung hero of the Walker breed and the Yadkin River dogs. If not for the efforts of Gordon there would have been no Yadkin River Crowder, Rock River Sackett, Rock River Sackett Jr. and if the truth be known no Nocturnal Nailor. For a man that didn’t hunt in competition hunts Gordon sure had a huge impact on them. A large majority of Walker stud dogs and big hunt winners of today can be traced back to the efforts made by Gordon Gilroy many years ago. Thank you for keeping Gordon’s dream alive through your breeding program. Gary Weller - Maryland

Date: 06 Feb 2007 Pete & Tina: You guys really out did yourself on this one! The website looks great. I would like to take time out to thank you Pete for all the help and insight that you have given me though out Mattie's short life. I can never thank you enough for that. I also would like to thank you guys for making the crosses that ya'll have to produce my two fine Yadkin River hounds. I feel like the breeding that you have done with Geoff will not only better the walker breed as a whole but will do good things for the Yadkin River name. thanks Justin King Yadkin County North Carolina
